Overview

QuranUnlocker is a mobile application that helps Muslims maintain focus by encouraging Quran reading during prayer times. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how we handle your data.

Data Collection

QuranUnlocker does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All data is stored locally on your device only.

Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored only on your device and is never sent anywhere:

• Your name and avatar — used for personalization within the app
• Selected city and prayer times — used to schedule reading reminders
• List of apps you choose to block — used to display reading reminders when those apps are opened
• Reading duration preference — your chosen daily reading goal
• Reading progress and history — tracks your Quran reading sessions

Accessibility Service

QuranUnlocker uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect when a blocked app is opened during prayer times. This service:

• Only monitors which app is in the foreground
• Does not read, collect, or transmit any screen content
• Does not access passwords, messages, or personal information
• Does not retrieve window content (canRetrieveWindowContent is set to false)
• Runs entirely on your device

Location Data

If you grant location permission, your coordinates are used solely to fetch accurate prayer times from the Al Adhan API. Your location is not stored on any server or shared with third parties. You can also manually select a city instead of using location.

Third-Party Services

QuranUnlocker uses the following external APIs:

• Al Adhan API — to calculate prayer times based on your city coordinates
• OpenStreetMap Nominatim — to search for cities by name

These services receive only city coordinates or search queries. No personal information is sent.

Children's Privacy

QuranUnlocker does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. All data remains on the device.

Data Deletion

You can delete all app data at any time by clearing the app's data through your device's Settings, or by uninstalling the app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
